Future Fest 2012
July 27-29, 2012
Dayton Playhouse has sponsored Future Fest for over two decades and is one of the last new play festivals in the country. Each year we bring you in one weekend six new unproduced plays as chosen by the FF committee from the submissions entered that year. Each play is dramatised as either a staged reading or a full dramatisation. Each play is a full length play and we do not limit the subject matter. We bring the playwrights to the festival for the weekend so you can mingle with them and we have talk back sessions with them after their show. We bring in adjudicators from around the country to pick the best play and give the playwrights a professional crit in front of the FF audience. It's a play lover's dream come true, and an opportunity a playwright can't get anywhere else.
Ticket sales will go live in the spring.
Submissions for plays for 2013 will go live at the end of summer 2012, but you can see the guidelines from 2012 to get an idea of what you need to do to submit your play.
We're always looking for volunteers to read plays and help with FutureFest. If you'd like to become a part of this great tradition, please contact Fran Pesch, we'd love to have you.
